could i be giving baby gas

i didn't even think of it till now. Back story I have supply issues so i have been supplementing with formula. I have tried several formulas cause ds has had bad gas and spitting up. I pump all i can (2oz at time) and put it in with the formula he is taking (6 oz bottle total) but i have had really bad gas since his birth and didn't even think that i could be passing it to him? What do you think?

I would think it's from the formula.. I have supply issues too and DD eats way more formula than BM

We both of my lo for their first 3 months if I ate any dairy they would have horrible gas pains, thankfully they out grew, but as long as I avoided dairy there was no gas issue.

chances are it is a combination of the formula and something you are eating. Things like Dairy, chocolate, carbonated drinks and caffine can all cause gas or colic and most formulas are dairy based. I would try different ways of increasing your supply and getting your lo off of the formula. Oatmeal, fenugreek, brewers yeast, and metimucil are all good ways for most women to increase there supply. Personally the brewers yeast has worked the best for me. There is also Reglan (also helps with headaches and stomach upset )which you can get from your DR.

My lo gets gassy a lot. . .but only when he is being fed from a bottle (it's still only bm though) I don't know what it is about drinking from a bottle that is making him gassy though.

You could try switching to a "gentle formula", that helped with my daughter. Just the act of drinking from a bottle can cause gas too because they swallow air. I switched to a Dr. Browns bottle and that did the trick!
