6mo old wants food - help, please

The problem is he is really screaming and won't nurse - he wants the food... my other 2 that I nursed didn't do this. They were content to nurse until close to a year without being any the wiser about food.

What do you do with a baby that's doing that - if you want them to just keep nursing only?

I said I wouldn't give up - I really mean it... sometimes I begin to waver...

Wondering about a nursing necklace - in case part of it really is not wanting to miss something.

In my opinion why not let him eat while the family eats. I'm sure for him to be sitting up like a big boy seeing all the family at the table is just really neat for him. Its a good time for him to learn textures and picking up food on his own. Then with the rest of the day have only nursing as an option. All my kids were early eaters, my third in particular, if he saw food or someone with something new and different he had to try it, that started at about 5-6 months. But now at 3 he eats anything and everything without a complaint.
Good Luck, I'm sure he wont stop nursing competely, its just maybe he wants more of things, new flavors to enjoy.

My LO is the same way. But, I have linked my irritable baby nursing syndrome to teething. When he is not wanting to nurse, rub his gums, and see if he calms down. It could be his teeth

Also, sometimes when LO get ear infections, they cry while nursing and get frustrated. Has he had a cold as of late ???

I don't think he's been sick... his 2yr old brother has been, tho. I've been watching him and there aren't signs, yet.

Teething - most of my kids are older when they get teeth, but then he's being different, anyway... gonna check.
