Re: help please

Also, something to try would be to practice sticking your tounge out at him all the time. Even a newborn can imitate this action and what you need is for him to have that wide open, tounge forward and down action. I did this w/ ds2 when his latch was bad and that was the only thing that helped. He now sticks his tounge out all the time still and people ask me why and I tell him b/c it was our thing when he was having latch issues. They don't ask anymore after that.

Re: help please

I pump after each feeding so about 8-9 times per day. I probably pump at least double what he needs. I don't really count it. I have a freezer full of milk that I will donate once I am sure that BF will work out. my LO had been taking about 1.5-1.8 oz at a feeding but sometimes I could put him back on and he will take about another .8 oz.
He usually eats about every three hours during the day.
However, today we say a new CST person and he seems to be doing better.
he had a 3 oz feeding in about 30 minutes !!!!!!!!

Oh Mama! How fantastic! Im so glad he ate so much for you! I bet you were so happy. I remember crying after her first before/after feed where she actually moved 2 ozs in 20 minutes. At that point we KNEW she could do it, it was just a matter of dealing with the nipple confusion and oversupply/letdown issues.

Im crossing my fingers for you.

Do you think maybe you could start cutting some pumps so that when you transition completely to the breast you dont have as much of an over supply?

Re: help please

Im so sorry I didnt see this for so long, I hope you get this...

It really took off after I stopped using the bottle. She nursed alot in those early days, but then she started phasing down to once every 2 hours.

I hope everything is going well and you guys are really enjoying your nursing relationship.
