Unhappy Spam Me!Please help me find a dipe that works!

I can't seem to find a diaper that works with ds. He is 18 months old and weighs 21lbs. I bought all larges when I started b/c dd wears them and I figured he would be there soon! He was always big and chubby - now he is tall but skinnnyyyy! I have tried meds but the rise is too short - Pt. FB work ok but not perfect - even when the waist and rise fit, the legs always seem too big! I have spent sooo much money trying different dipes and none of them are working. Dh is so frusterated b/c I am and thinks we should try sposies again. I looked into the chemical free ones - OMG - the prices are way to much for my budget. I really don't think I can put that **** on my babies bums again ..... but I do need some relief from constantly, obsessivly being on here lurking to find the "perfect" dipe for him at a great price!
Please help!! What do you guys use with tall skinny's?
I have pockets, fitteds, AIO's...so I am open to any suggestions!

WAHM's spam Me!

Re: Please help me find a dipe that works!

I have found that aplix/velcro work much better than snaps when dealing with this. Right now, I like prefolds with a cover. Some people really like using a snappy/pins to get the best fit, but I am not that talented (haven't taken the time to practice)

Look for a cover that has a wide space on the front of the dipe to be able to adjust the velcor more. JMO

Goodluck!

I'm not sure about his exact measurements, but Snap-EZ makes a skinny Large size pocket. www.snap-ez.com

I have to agree with the pp. I get the best fit with my pf and snappi's. The snappis are really easy to use.

I second the pp with GAD www.greenacredesigns.com they have medium longs which work great! and skinny large SEZ www.snap-ez.com ..i think velcro are ok but my 10month old likes to take them off so they are no go here!(except i do have one BG with fleece inner but i have to have pants on over it)

DEFINATELY try a GAD!!!! She makes ML's and they are side snapping so they are great for skinny guys (like mine!)

Hi...I'm new to this site...but I am a WAHM that sews fitteds.

I make them so that the waist has plenty of room to tighten up for a 'skinny' baby.

PM me if you'd like to try one out.

They have an internal soaker and Aplix closure.

I will be listing them for sale on the site soon...but wanted to give you a heads up since you asked for *spam*

Re: Spam Me!Please help me find a dipe that works!

I'm in the same boat as you. My ds is almost 2.5 yrs and about 25 lbs. PT FBs were the last diaper (easily attainable and priced decent) to fit him and now the waist and rise are good, but the legs are too big. He's got newborn sized thighs...just 10" lol

Just a general suggestion...when trying out dipes, stick to side snap...they seem to be the best for skinny babies.

You might want to try very baby diapers. They are a little pricey, but if you can sew, you can make your own because the pattern is for sale too.

Another option, I just tried a med. Happy Cheeks Diapers AIO, front closing aplix, and it seems to fit. I've only used it once so far, but it fit great And the price is certainly nice too!
