Sleeping through the night advice...
My ds is 8 weeks this week. We had been putting him to sleep for the night around 8pm, and he was waking up at 11-12 (sometimes 2ish) 4:30 or so and then 6am. Well, night before last he woke at 11 or so and then didn't wake until 4:30, okay not too bad. But last night he went to sleep around 7:30 or so and didn't wake up (until I woke him) at 4:30. Should I be worried about him? How is this going to affect my supply? He's now been sleeping since about 6:30am and its 9:00.
Help. Advice...

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
IMO - if babe is sleeping through the night, go with it and enjoy it. It may not last. Sure it will affect your nighttime supply but that's not a concern if LO isn't eating at night. Your nighttime supply will come back if LO starts waking up in the night again too.
FWIW my Izzy slept through the night at about that age +/- a week. It lasted a month or so and it was bliss while it lasted. It allowed me to recharge a bit. My supply was not affected in the least besides the first night or two waking up uncomfortable or in a puddle of BM.

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
Since your 8 weeks pp, I"m sure you're supply is somewhat balancing itself out now. If you're LO is sleeping more at night, let 'em sleep. My rule of thumb is 'never wake a sleeping baby'

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
I wouldn't worry! As long as you are feeding on demand, your supply will most likely take care of itself! Just enjoy the rest you are getting, and be mindful of the wet and poopy diapers your baby is having if you are worried! And consider yourself lucky!! DD is 16 months and wakes up at least 2, usually 4 times a night to nurse!!

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
I am soooo glad you asked this question. My ds is 13 wks and has been sleeping from about 9:00 until anywhere between 4:00-6:00 am. I was a little concerned at first then thought if he was hungry he would wake up. I am enjoying it while it lasts. My only problem is he doesn't wake up at the same time every morining which makes getting ready for work tricky sometimes. Thankfully I work in my home so I don't need to get too dressed up or anything. I haven't noticed any problems with my supply. My ds eats every 2-3 hrs during the day and is gaining and growing so my guess is he's getting what he needs.

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
Yeah! If it weren't for getting too full, I'd be set!

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
I know- sometimes ds sleeps a long stretch too and then when he finally wakes up I'm totally full and he'll only eat from ONE side! Leaves the other one hanging! I just let it drip on a diaper when I feed him from the other side and then manually express a bit. After about a week of it it seems I have leveled out a bit to what he's going to do and I'm not nearly so engorged...

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
Take the sleep while you can get it!
Your body will naturally adjust.

Re: Sleeping through the night advice...
Enjoy the sleep! My DD started sleeping through the night (8pm to 4am) around 6 weeks, and then around 3 months she cut out the 4am feeding and slept from 7:30pm-7:30am. It didn't affect my supply and I acutally took advantage of the her sleeping by pumping just before I went to bed so I couldn build up a freezer stash of milk.
Around 5 months she started waking up 2-4x a night and only recently she's sleeping through the night again. It goes in phases, but enjoy it while it lasts.
