need some post weaning help

my dd just weaned 2 weeks ago on her 3rd birthday. (yay us!)
but now i constantly feel engorged and like i'm about to let down. it's not very comfortable at all! i'm not leaking anything and my breasts don't feel engorged when i touch them.
my obgyn suggested i wrap them tight against my body for a few days (that sounds like the recipe for a clogged duct or mastitis to me)
what do i do? i so want to put her back to breast to relieve some pressure!

You could try the cabbage treatment. Put a fresh cabbage leaf inside your bra and leave it there until it wilts. Repeat as often as necessary. (This sounds crazy, but people swear it works!) Or, you could get in a nice warm shower and hand express just enough to relieve the pressure.

Congrats on your daughter's big step!

My doctor recommended the ace bandage treatment as well, and I know a couple of moms who have used it. (Apparently the compression reduces milk production?) I've heard good thing about the cabbage leaves too (although it doesn't make sense to me) and if worse came to worse you could always take a sudafed or something, that would dry you out.
