My Mood:
Re: Pumping question/support

I've had to pump and feed both my babies due to inverted nipples. I only lasted 3mos with DS, I would pump all day and maybe get enough for one 4 oz bottle! I was terribly stressed b/c I thought of giving him formula as failing him in a very important way. Needless to say, he survived and is happy and healthy. With my DD, I knew that if I had to give her formula, she wouldn't keel over and was MUCH less stressed. What a difference!! I produced 36-40 oz a day in 5 (30 min each) pumping sessions. She had plenty in the fridge and 4 gallons in the freezer by the time I needed to stop pumping. The only difference was my state of mind. I used my Medela with both of them. So, relax as much as possible!! It is a lot of work, but very worth it. Best of luck!
