does anyone else have an older baby on smaller bottles?
my 11.5 month old is still drinking 3-4 ounce bottles of bm when i'm away it seems really weird since dd1 was on 8 ounce bottles at like 6 months. just wondering?

Re: does anyone else have an older baby on smaller bottles?
My 9 mo takes 4 3oz bottles while I'm at work (gone almost 10 hours). She doesn't really seem to be interested in taking a larger amount fewer times. She really likes nursing though and nurses every 2 to 3 hours on days that I'm home too. So I'm thinking it's partly that she wants to be cuddled and get to suck even when I'm not home.

Re: does anyone else have an older baby on smaller bottles?
My dd has never gotten a bottle more than 4oz and she's 2.5 now. breastmilk is different than formula and I wanted my dd to eat frequently just like she nurses.

I think they call it "reverse cycling". They'll just eat enough to tide them over until moms around to bf again. My son never took more than a 6 oz bottle, even at 12 months old.

Re: does anyone else have an older baby on smaller bottles?
My DD never, ever drank more than 4oz EBM at a time. Even when the daycare tried to get her to take more, she never would. 3.5-4 was her max. I think some kids just prefer smaller amounts. DD is still a bird when when it comes to eating/drinking....she prefers to eat tiny amounts throughout the day.

Re: does anyone else have an older baby on smaller bottles?
Both my 2 never took more than a 4 oz bottle ever at daycare. My second would take a VERY full 4 oz bottle (so it was probably close to 5 oz), but I never even bought any 8oz bottles because they never seemed to want more at 1 feeding.
