do you empty your pockets?

I separate mine when I take it off. I find it's easier to just keep them separate. I wash them separately too, but I only use pockets, so it makes sense for my routine. I don't have to touch them usually they just shake out into my pail.

Wow, guess I'm the odd one out here, but I just throw 'em all in the washing machine. They all fall out in the wash. As I'm pulling them out for the dryer, I check 'em, and if one is stuck in the pocket (occasionally, like once every other week), I just pull it out and throw it in the next load coming through.

We used to have some stink issues, but I quit using vinegar, and the stink went away.

Our pockets are primarily Happy Heiny's, with some WAHM pockets in there, too.

I pull the inserts out as soon as I change the diaper, at home & when we are out (so I dont forget at home). Then I can just dump all the dirty dipes into the washer instead of having to pick through them

nods, this is what I do, they won't wash as well if you don't take them out. I have forgotten during middle of the night sleepy diaper changes and it has stained my micro inserts.

I always take out BG inserts. GADs I can leave in and they come out in the prerinse. If they don't I try to remember to go through and pull them out manually before I start the actual wash cycle, but so far they've always come out. I wouldn't think BGs would because of the "envelope" style pocket.

I definatly take them out. I have left a few in by accident, and find a little ball of insert in the end LOL, and then have to reach in and take out a soggy insert
I take the inserts out when I put the diaper in the pail. Even when we are out, I take the insert out right away, so when we get home, I can just dump the diapers in the pail.

Our washer must have super spin or something, but they come out in the wash. We only usually have 12 in there AT MOST...so maybe that has something to do with it. I figure, if an AIO gets clean and it's sewn in, the insert'll get clean even if it doesn't come out. But they usually do. Once every three weeks or so I'll have one that didn't unstuff itself.
