Biting!!

My LO is 7 months and has started biting. With my last he bit me so hard once that he drew blood and I of course screamed and he never did it again. Well, this little girl doesn't bite really hard, she is just nibbling, lol and she looks up at me and smiles. I tell her no (which of course makes her smile more) and I take her off for a few minutes but she is doing it more and more. HELP!!

My dd does this too! She's around the same age. It's getting harder and harder, little buggers. Of course it's funny to them! lol. I'm terrified of her teeth coming in though. Yikes!

My DD has her two bottom teeth and has drawn blood. I started saying no real loud (cause it hurt) and she would just smile. Now I gently take her off and give her to my DH. I feed her again about 15 minutes later. She doesn't bite any more.... well, she hasn't bitten me in over a week.

Re: Biting!!

Not a nibbler, but I have been bit I told her "No", put the boob away and set her down for a minute so I could regain my composure and to help show her that mommy means no biting

Re: Biting!!

I was going through this last month, dd is 7 months and has two bottom teeth and her top ones are trying to push through. I have screamed a couple of times as she drew blood she laughed, NOT OKAY! I noticed that she was biting near the end of her feeding so I just started feeding her till i thought that she was getting full but not quite and then take her off. I nurse her a bit more often now but would rather do that than go through the biting again. She hasn't bitten me in about 3 weeks!!! HTH

Re: Biting!!

Feel your pain, mommas. DS has 11 teeth through the gums and 3 more working their way out - did I mention he just made 13 months?!?!?!? I unfortunately had a similar experience to PP, but the sadness dissipated quickly for us both while the memory did not. He has yet to bite me again!

I had more issues with this with DD, who did NOT get as many teeth as early, and I had to resort to pulling her off when close to finished (it's been said they realize when their almost full that their mouths are hurting from teething, so they bite like they would on a teething toy to help the pain ) and flicking her cheek to release the hold - she wouldn't let go!!! I was trying to tell her "no, no", but she was laughing and biting still! It was awful, but after that when she did try again days later, I just pointed one finger near the latch-on and shook my head while telling her "no, no", and she got it! She pulled back and cried some , but I just comforted her and then let her latch on again to finish, and we were done with the biting!
