Does your baby pull her own hair while nursing?

This is Ella's new thing...It seems like she's pulling her hair to keep from falling asleep. She just turned 6 months old and has begun so many new things its making my head spin! Just wondered if this hair pulling thing is something other babies are doing too. She discovered her hair a few days ago, so she may just be a little confused. lol

Oh yes my 2 yr old did all the time. Then when she quit nursing she would twist it. Now she does not do it very often, only when she is tired

Dd did that when she was bottle-feeding (I had to pump). She still does it when she's tired; she'll also twist her hair around her index finger. Such a pain to get those tangles out!!!

My daughter (first baby) did that - I discouraged it by holding her hand because I didn't want her to make a habit of it, but now looking back it was cute and I should have just loosened up!

My dd does this too, I think she finds it comforting. Shes been doing it since around 6-7months. DH swears ds did the same, but I dont remember it like this. She does it every time I nurse her, and more so when she'd tired and going to sleep. Actually, sometimes thats how I know shes tired cause she's stroking her hair!! And she wakes up with the most unbelievable bedhead!!

Mine, too. But even though it looks painful, I think it helps relax her.

My son didn't do the hair-pulling thing.... but he would rub his face and sort of pull at his eye sockets... I know sounds weird huh. I was so worried he was going to scratch his eyeballs since babies have such razor sharp little fingernails! He eventually grew out of it and no eyeballs were harmed! LOL

All of mine delveloped some habit like that. Both girls pulled thier hair, the youngest still twirls her curls, makes horrible knots sometimes. Oldest ds rubbed his head, he is 5yrs now and still likes me to rub his head. lol
Youngest is 4months he started pulling his hair and makes himself cry sometimes.
I have seen other babes pulling or twirling their hair while sucking thumbs or pacis, I think it must be a self soothing activity.

My DD would always be pulling her hair. She would pull it so hard that she would start crying or she would scream. But I think it's normal for her to be doing that.
