Low carb and high protein. It is important to protein lean muscle mass as we lose weight, especially the older we get.
Are you ttc? Don't forget your folic acid. Ask me why.

Re: Does anyone low carb anymore?

I'm not a fan of the low carb thing at all. It makes me tired and grumpy. I need my carbs, albeit the right ones. I try and stay away from lots of sugar and white carbs and stick to sweet potatoes, whole grains, and ww pastas on occasion. Everyone needs them and i think going no/low carbs is super unhealthy.

Re: Does anyone low carb anymore?

I'm a low carber from way back. It works for me like nothing else! I'm also allergic to wheat; it does horrible things to me.

I was able to get pregnant after five years of secondary infertility (we lost our first child to miscarriage) through low carbing. I don't have PCOS, but insulin issues wreak havoc on the endocrine system and I was no exception. I'm now up 20 pounds since my little guy was conceived, and know I have to get back down to what I call "fertile weight" to get pregnant again. That's also the weight I was when I conceived my first child. I really believe lowering carbs is a diet of hope......

Anyway, so I'm only eating green/high water/high fiber carbs-asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, green beans, mushrooms, cucumbers, a little tomato, keeping carbs under 20 a day. Doing great so far.
