Re: BFing MUST haves =]
I used a nipple shield which was given to me at the hospital by the nurses.

Re: BFing MUST haves =]
What I really needed in the beginning were nursing bras, nursing pads, lanolin, a My Brest Friend pillow (I found it way better than the Boppy in terms of positioning a nb) and www.drjacknewman.com for videos and informational support.

Re: BFing MUST haves =]
Keep your chin up! I struggled to keep my milk suplly up with number 1 only to have it be sooooooooo much easier with number 2-5. I can drown them now! Fenugreek is the herb that does work but I found relaxing and not stressing is the best cure!

Re: BFing MUST haves =]
I second the Mother's Milk. But I think the most important thing you will need is support. If you can, start going to LLL meeting now, this way you can meet all the other mamas there and feel comfortable to ask questions when you need help.

Re: BFing MUST haves =]
I personally think the most important things to have are friends who are experienced bf'ers ( LLL is a great place to ind some) and tons of help for your house and your other child so you can focus on bf'ing
I have more thoughts on this but my lo is fussing at me

Re: BFing MUST haves =]
Lansinoh! I love that stuff for the first couple of months. Seriously, if my nipples even start to get sore, I put that on and by the next feeding they feel better (of course, it didn't work quite that fast for the initial nursing soreness, but it's GREAT stuff).
