The Best Breast Pads to Use?
Hi Mamas,
I have used disposable breast pads, and cotton reusable ones. I was wondering how many have tried wool, and what brands, as well as what is the most recommended for the BFing ladies out there. I have heavy let downs, and when the babe is feeding on one side the other side flows like a river! LOL. Any help/comments would be appreciated!

Re: The Best Breast Pads to Use?
I am a heavy leaker and could only use Lanisoh disposables until I found Ama'z Padz. I have also tried lilypads, but I found that I broke out with an awful rash while using them because it didn't allow me to breathe! I have a small stash of her super nursing pads. They are made with a top layer of bamboo velour, 2 layers of hemp plus a layer of bamboo french-terry for the core and is backed in black shirt-weight windpro fleece, serged in woolly nylon thread. I have never had a leak using these and they haven't been seen through my shirt. I LOVE these and they are so so soft!!

Re: The Best Breast Pads to Use?
I found these: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php...ng_id=11633195
And love them, since she is a WAHM you can order them to your liking. I have extra layers on all mine and I use them at home and at night. I still use Lanisoh during the day when I am out b/c i like that they are discreet and stick to my bra. If you wander her site, you will see she has a 6 pack - worth it b/c you pick the styles and they come all wrapped w/ a ribbon. So darling :-) I gave 3 away as a shower gift, and kept 3. BUT went back and order MORE!!! HTH

Re: The Best Breast Pads to Use?
I have just now(after 16 1/2 months of BFing) been able to start wearing cloth nursing pads. I swear by my Lansinoh disposables though. LOL They are the ONLY thing that I was able to wear without soaking through as soon as Xander started eating. I bought 2 sets of LilyPadz; and for me, they were a complete waste of money. They would always leak. I honestly think that my girls were just too big for them to fit right. LOL

Re: The Best Breast Pads to Use?
I'm a big fan of Meg-A-Roo's designs. I LOVE her breastpads. She makes them out of flannel and either PUL or Fleece backing.

Re: The Best Breast Pads to Use?
I am also a big fan of Lansinoh disposables - they really are the very best, hands-down. I haven't found any reusables that dependably absorb my rivers of milk. (am intrigued by the Ama'z that Katherine recommends, tho'....)
When I'm just at home, though, I catch the stream in a plain ol' prefold. |

Re: The Best Breast Pads to Use?
i voted for organic cotton because i think thats probably the softest against the breast but anything super soft is good! i hated disposables (not only creating waste cuz id go thru 2-3 pairs a day but also itchy!! oh and expensive!) so istarted making my own!!
