Stomach problems. HELP!
I am an IBS sufferer, have been since my teens.
When I eat, in about 20-30 mins my stomach starts gurgling (not a sound a feeling) and then it burns at the bottom of my stomach, not at the top like heartburn. I suddenly get very bloated. I feel a little lightheaded and have a little nausea. The center of my forehead pounds aches. And very strangly my right side, breast/shoulder,neck, arm ache. It usually last 2-3 hours and then I am fine, all symptoms gone. I have also lost my appetite almost completely and it takes very little to fill me up. I absolutely dread to eat. This all started about a week ago. Any ideas?

Re: Stomach problems. HELP!
Well, first talk to a doctor, but sometimes cutting out certain foods can help when you have a flare up. I think caffeine and certain veggies can irritate it.

Re: Stomach problems. HELP!
The pain in your shoulder makes me think it could be your gallblader. The pain can feel like it is coming from another area of your abdomen, not always where the gall bladder is located. Are you eating foods that are higher in fat? I would see the doc about it for sure, but try eating something with no fat in it and see if it happens again. Plain toast, veggies, some fruit. My mom had problems with hers a few years ago, and the shoulder pain was one of her worst symptoms, other than the pain of eating. If you let it go too long it will get worse, and you wont be able to eat anything without an attack. Good Luck.

I have been going through the same thing for about the past 3yrs. now for sure...possibly longer I just didn't really realize a pattern. *I have cut way back on the foods that "trigger" it for me. *I take digestive enzymes with every meal I haven't heard many people having success with regular dr.s however if your not opposed you could check into a Dr. who practices traditional chinese medicine! I started seeing one - she did allergy testing, put me on a strict diet, and I never once had an attack while on it because it eliminated the foods my body couldn't handle.....the next step would have been accupuncture but I didn't follow through with it and I definately regret it! If anything go to one to get an allergy test done so you have a better picture of what your trigger foods are. (they don't test the same way modern dr.s do) For me some of the worst triggers are: sugar yeast dairy msg caffeine

Re: Stomach problems. HELP!
I had problems very similar to this..had a "flare up" so bad a couple of years ago that doc wanted to put me in hospital until they could figure out what was wrong. I had extreme nausea and vomiting, no appetite, and extreme pain in the lower part of my stomach. Usually started right after I ate, but eventually it was a constant problem. Well, they finally figured out that I have Crohn's Disease-after testing for everything under the sun. It is basically an over reaction of the immune system that causes inflamation, etc of the intestines. I had to see a specialist and take medication to supress the immune system's reponse. I ended up stopping the meds when we were TTC and have been off of them since 3/07. I still have occasional problems and have to be careful of certain "triggers" also. I hope that helps.
