Baking powder or Baking Soda?

I forget which one was recommended for use to sprinkle in a smelly diaper pail.
Whatever it was it was OK to throw the diapers in the wash with it on them, as it was good for doing laundry too. Does anyone have an idea?
I bought both at the grocery store yeaterday cause I couldn't remeber which one I needed.

Re: Baking powder or Baking Soda?

Definitely Soda.

Powder is just soda with some other stuff added for baking, so it *might* work, but I wouldn't want the other stuff in my diapers. Go with soda.

another way to avoid confusion, go to the laundry/cleaning isle in the grocery, and buy "washing soda"... same stuff, but i think it is granulated differently to be more effective in the wash... you will never be confused and try to put it in with your baking supplies, bigger box, won't fit!!
