Help! Dying PF question!

Okay I went to Walmart today and got some of the Rit fabric dye, that's the only one they have here in Canada.

I came home and did them on the stove, 4 preemie unbleached PF's and 2 Regular sized unbleached. The regular sized ones I did after the preemie and they didn't dye quite as well, not as bright, but still fine for me.

Anyway I have rinsed them by hand and then 3 times in the washer on the rinse cycle and they are still running a little bit in the water, just a touch of pink.

Do I need to add salt or anything to make them stop or do I just keep rinsing. I never added salt to the water when dying should I have??

Try washing them with really hot water once. That should help too.

Re: Help! Dying PF question!

RIT takes FOREVER to not bleed anymore. When I used a rit packet it took me twice the washing as my dylon dyed ones to get them to stop bleeding. I think I had to wash at least 5 times in the washer to stop the bleeding if not more. Just keep washing. They'll stop bleeding eventually. It is just how RIT dye is in my experience.

Okay I guess I will just keep washing them then. Wow does it ever take a long time.

I think I might cheack out michaels here and see if they carry another kind of dye. I did buy 4 packages of RIT though. But Walmart takes anything back. LOL

We are on the 7th rinse and I have washed them on the normal warm cycle with detergent and a little of washing soda once.

Still pink water, at least it's not the deep scarlet red anymore.
