Can YOU snappi a PF tight enough for BF poo?

M'kay, I LOVE the PFs coverless, UNTIL ds poops. Then I despise them. It goes EVERYWHERE. He's still mostly BF, but poops once a day and when it's time -- WATCH OUT!! If I could just anticipate them, I'd put him in a fitted, then go back to PFs afterwards, but he's not regular like that. It mostly goes out the legs of the PF, and now I'm noticing that I'm not getting the PF tight enough around the legs. I've tried the angelwing and the bikini twist folds, and I can get the legs tight while I'm snappi-ing, then after he's been crawling for 5 minutes or so, they're all loose again.

So, PFing mamas of BF babies, how do you manage? Do you just depend on the cover to catch the poo? Any tips from the experts, I really want to make the PFs work!

My dd isn't bf but have you tried the jelly roll? Roll the sides in instead of folding them in.

My daughter isn't BF but her meds cause explosivel loose poops that are the same consistency and volume as DS's BF poops. I do an angel crossed with a jelly roll, and roll down the top of it (the part near her belly in front) to get a good snug fit. Holds poop like mad-- I can try to take a picture later of the fold if I remember.

Heck yeah I can get one super tight. The trick is to pull the layer closest to the skin tight, then snappi.
We use the bikini twist,it makes little gussets on the legs and we've yet to have a blow out and Taci is 6mns old

Gosh, I cant believe I have an opinion about this Woo HOO

we do either angle fold or twist and then tuck the legs into themselves so they fit into the cover better- this creates a 'pocket' as well in the legs and keeps ALL messes in.

I'm with you- I wish we could just schedule the poops. We use liners and its annoying to have to use one every time when I know that only 1/10 that it will get 'used' - I'd rather her little bum be on microfleece etc.

DD is long past the exclusively bf stage and I didn't cloth diaper then. But she eats so much fruit she still has really soft poos. The only way I can contain her poo in a pf is with the jelly roll. The rolls create a side wall of sort that even if I don't get it on super snug (even though snugger is better) the poo stays in.

I don't snappi very often (use snaps or pins usually) but I agree with the posters above...the jellyroll works great at containing poos!

Looks trim, too...the infant IPF in my avatar is jelly-rolled...

this is what I was going to suggest too....

I also get tighter prefolds if I pin them. SOmetimes I have to re-do a side but I make sure it is noc and tight and the pin is "full" of cloth. I hope you get your dilemma fixed. Either that or use covers that will contain all the mess like BSWW!

Re: Can YOU snappi a PF tight enough for BF poo?

I always just used a cover because I couldn't get it tight enough on the legs either. It's nice to know that so many others have - it's possible, I guess! Good luck.
