Make your own wool wash?

I read somewhere that you can just use baby shampoo or mild conditioner and lanolin to wash woolens. Is that true?
If not, who sells good, cheap wool wash?

You can do that. Here's a video link:

BTW, I love www.sudzndudz.com wool wash bars and I just got some stuff from www.nothernessence.com that smells great and you can get a sample size for just $1 to try out (plus shipping, of course!)

Re: Make your own wool wash?

I make my own that way.

In a jar w/ a lid I put...
a small squirt of baby shampoo
an inch to and inch and a half of lanolin lik Lansoh
some warm water shake shake shake

put my wool in the sink, cover with warm water, pour in mixture from the jar, stir it up and let it sit for a awhile.

I don't have a video but I have step by step instructions:

I use the walmart lavendar baby wash, smells soooo yummy, and I use solid lanolin.

Well, its good to know all that baby wash and shampoo is useful for something, since I wont use it on her hair. Any other oils I should add in? jojoba, tto, lavender?
