My DH and both my boys aren't circ'd. They don't have "gross" penises or have to take extra special care with them. Circing can KILL a baby (infection) and cause lifelong pain from cutting off too much, as well as many other problems. I think you've been misinformed on uncirc'd penises - there's plenty of info online about both sides of the argument.

DH was very athletic too, he never had any locker room comments or fights over his uncirc. He's never had an infection because of it. His two older brothers were circ'd around age 8 and 10 and it was very traumatic for them. I say, if a boy/man wants to be circ'd, let HIM decide.

My 8 yo stepson is circ'd. He has asked why he looks different from my 2 boys and they've pointed it out as well. He was actually embarassed (my stepson) that his penis looks different from his brothers'.

Ok, so this post was aimed at people who DID circ, sorry but I just wanted to add my 2 cents

My baby boy is actually getting circumsized this afternoon My dh and I talked about it and we decided to do it because it seems cleaner and easier to take care of-I left it up to my dh to make the final decision and he was adament about getting it done so that's why we're going ahead with it sara

And you are right! Its a cyclical thing, as my dh says, twenty years from now it may swing back to people circing for some unknow reason.Plus it seems to differ in areas of the US. More little boys are uncirc'd in other parts of the US than they are in the deep south. We just chose to do it based on daddy's experience as an uncirc'd man.

i do agree with you on this... the question is asked of circ'ing moms, so we really shouldnt comment on their choices, as i am offended by those who do comment on my choice.

No.. its not really talking. Its the same thing it always is. Ask about more mainstream things and then try to correct t hem in their thinking. Its just Mommy Wars and I think people should just educate themselves and make their own choices. Even when I read this I knew I shouldn't answer and I was immediately sorry I did.
