Diaper Swappers

So DD and I often take a shower together. The past two times, I've wrapped her up in her towel and dried her off, then set her down in the bathroom to walk around while I dry off. She walks around for a minute, then pees right where she stands.

I tell her that she's peeing, etc.

This morning was the second time (so there's not really a pattern since it's only twice, lol)... but I mentioned "peeing" about 30 seconds before she actually did it. I don't know if it was just a coincidence or if she understood. I may try it out again here and there though... but with her sitting on a potty instead of standing in the bathroom.

that reminds me of how we potty trained my son. when he was around 17 months, we noticed that he would take off his diaper and pee on the floor. so we took out the potty and told him to pee into that instead. no pressure, just asked him to go in the potty instead. by 19 months he was out of diapers day and night. it was much different than with my daughter who potty trained shortly before turning 3 years old. we are now ec'ing our 3 month old.

i think it would be a great idea to show her the potty instead of the floor

It's weird, though, b/c I don't think she's aware of it at all. She looks right at me the whole time she is going, and even afterwards she just doesn't care. So I dunno. :shrug: Our next "together" shower will be tomorrow or Wednesday, so I'll try again then and let you guys know what happened, if anything.

I forgot to give the update yesterday. We took our shower, and then afterwards, I dried us both off, and set her on the potty.... AND....

nothing happened.

It would figure that the one time I give it a try, she wouldn't have any pee available.

But she sat on their quite contently for a good 5 minutes. We probably could have gone longer, but I was getting bored.

I was trying to sing to her but I'm fighting bronchitis so that wasn't going too well for me.
