Re: I am just really worried! Fevers up to 104.7!

This happens to DD all the time! Just 2 days ago. She actually was diagnosed with a sinus infection this time though.

You shouldn't put them in the bath though. It only works temporarily and it can be worse for it to raise and then go down every 20 min. Alternate Tylenol and Motrin every 4-6 hours. And lots of Gatorade!

Re: I am just really worried! Fevers up to 104.7!

I just saw this thread tonight, it got my attention because I spent most of last night at work in the ER with my own daughter with a 105 degree axillary temp (which means it was really more like 106). I'm a nurse and just wanted to give you a hug. As I was reading the first page I kept saying under my breath "Why haven't they drawn any blood cultures?!" My dd's labs were all normal last night, which means whatever she has is viral and we're just waiting for the rash to let us know which virus it is. *side note* Even nurses get worried when their kids get sick, sometimes even moreso because we see all the bad stuff!

I'm glad your little guy is feeling better!

Lovely....His ped rec lukewarm baths to help take down his fevers following a dose of tylenol or motrin. We did rotate the use of the tylenol and motrin every 3-4hours. I'm sorry to hear your little one is sick too.. I hope she gets better quickly!

Dawnn.... I hope your little one is okay! What a terribly high fever bless her little heart! What do the blood cultures show exactly? I asked his ped at his appt and he said they weren't in the chart and he'd check with the nurse. But we were so caught up after that getting my older sons xray and discussing him I totally forgot to ask about it again. I'll have to call tomorrow and find out.

I forgot to add that he is doing great! He's up to 27.8lbs!

Angel, in blood cultures they are checking to see if there is bacteria growing in the blood. Sometimes it takes 3 days for a blood culture to be considered negative (no growth). Typically they're drawn 15 minutes apart from 3 different sites.

Kirsten is miserable today, just lays there and moans, "ouchie, ouchie mommy." At least she's still drinking.
