Many other boards have them, a group for women or people of color (or parents of children of color) to discuss the issues they go through that other people may not be able to relate to and really should not be able to chime in on since they have never and will never experience it?

Oh yeah, hey I think this is an AWESOME idea! I've seen a lot of boards have these kind of forums.
It would be helpful for a lot of parents/mommas/families, I'm totally for it!

So, people who are white aren't allowed to have an opinion about or comment on things not relating to white people? Wow. Backing away...

I actually think it's a terrible idea. ticking time bomb. not a big fan of separating boards by race either.
I agree here (and also wonder why white people cant comment about issues other groups face). How would the lines of who can and cannot participate be drawn? I am white, but the mother of biracial children. Would I get to participate? Like all things with race it gets really unclear. Besides, I am a pro-inclusive person.

I agree with the PP, but I also acknowledge that that the issues of POC and parents of Children of Color face are vastly different from those of most white people. Pretending race doesn't matter doesn't make racism go away. JMO.

Hmm...I thought segregation was done away with in the 60's? Or is this a new kind- cyber segregation? Whites in this forum, blacks over there. Or because I'm not either/or, maybe I shouldn't chime in?
Uhm, you mean like the sensitive subjects forum divides those with mental health issues and those without?.. ie - it doesn't.
But it gives those who need a space to talk about it, a space to talk about it.

I guess we are wondering why you can' talk about it with people of non-color (not even sure if that is a real term)? Your post suggest white people could not relate or benefit from those conversations and/or that you could not benefit from their perspective. That is fairly a fairly racist position. Would you additionally be in support of a PONC (people of non-color) forum? By your reasoning they too would need a forum to share their life experiences that POC would not relate to. Otherwise, one group would be getting preferential treatment. Instead of all of that, I say we keep the board racially inclusive.
