Onsies over CD's

Someone posted in another thread that onesies don't work well over cloth diapers. Is this true? Why? What about pants?

I don't have my baby yet (3 more months still), but I was planning on CDing him. I already have tons of onesies and stuff that people gave me as gifts. I guess I will just be a little disappointed if I can't use them! I assumed your baby could still wear all the same clothes over cloth diapers that he could wear over disposables. Please help.

If you use pockets, they work fine. If you use fitteds and a cover they work fine. If you use prefolds or fitteds without a cover, they don't work fine and you'll have one wet baby

Sometimes they work with no problem but sometimes the pressure of the onesie will cause the diaper to leak around the edges. You can avoid this by leaving the onesie unsnapped or I have also found if you only snap the middle snap it doesn't leak.

I usually don't snap my onesie's but not due to leaking, my kids are just really long in the body and they never fit unless we really size up, also I don't like the extra step, I know lazy me.

onsies work great for us on our 6 month old over our pocket diapers(fuzzi bunz,bumgenius)..of course with my boys always being big babys(born at 9lbs 23inches and is now 20lbs 29inches 6 month old!) i have to size up but they work....when we use our fitted with wool i use undershirts(lap shirts)which i am going to dye some cute colors..love to show off my wool and i love it when people ask about them..lets me tell people about cd

I've always had onsies on her and not had any problems. And I snap all the snaps, too

I used onsies but don't any more just because DD usually just runs around in a dipe. but when we used them they worked fine for us, I found that if they were a bit lose fitting they wouldn't squish the dipe or anything

Re: Onsies over CD's

I never had a problem with onesies, and I have used some pretty "poofy" diapers
If anything, sometimes we had to size up a onesie before we did the rest of the clothes, but that was it~
