how long was dc in mediums?

so brighton is now 6.5 weeks old...weighs 13 pounds and is about 25 inches long....needless to say he's outgrown the majority of his smalls (fitteds)...i think we have 3 he can still fit into, other than that he wears mediums. we can only use his small covers if he's wearing a prefold. so my question is, about how long did your dc fit in mediums...do i have time to slowly build a large stash or do i need to be prepared? i was kind of expecting to have longer than 3 weeks in the smalls so i didn't have very many medium covers bought yet. thankfully i had fitteds and stuff though!!! and thankfull for prefolds yet again LOL!!!

Re: how long was dc in mediums?

My DS was in size medium for about 15 months and then he grew into larges and has been in them for about 7-8 months and he is moving onto size XL in some diapers.

I've heard though some babies never even need larges though.

Re: how long was dc in mediums?

My boys are still in mediums! They are about 27-29 pounds. They have one large diaper, a vbsn, but I think they would have been fine in a m/l.

Mine were in mediums for 6 months or more. You have some time to get the larges.

Re: how long was dc in mediums?

My DD is 21 months and still in mediums. I am about to move her into size large Bumkins AIOs - those are starting to get tight around her thighs - I guess the rise is short. Mostly we use fitteds and covers though, and those mediums are still fitting her. I'm starting to wonder if we will ever need size large fitteds. Guess it will depend how long it takes for her to PL.

Re: how long was dc in mediums?

Wanted to add... Sort of wish she would grow a little so I had an excuse to make new diapers. New diapers are fun. I make all my own fitteds though and time is short right now. Maybe it's a good thing...
