Car seat techs?

Can a tech weigh in here? Long story short, but dh and I gave away our infant seat combo today. No stroller or bucket for this baby at all. I am hearing that it isn't as safe to use a Britax for my newborn. Is this true? I tend to have large babies- 10lbers. tia

I don't know why it wouldn't be safe. I believe the weight starts at 5 lbs for my marathon.

The only concern with a newborn is the harness straps being too high. I think Britax says the harness slots shouldn't be more than an inch above the shoulders of an infant when rear facing. You'll probably need rolled towels on each side of baby to keep baby in proper position. What Britax convertible do you have?
