Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....
okay my daughter has had a fever since sunday... we have been back and forth to the doc this week today they ran urine and blood tests. Well when they did the cath, the doc saw that she had a sore from a diaper rash (my kids have SUPER sensitive skin.... when they poop, its like the poo burns their skin even though I change right aways, and its takes next to nothing for it to bleed)
Anyways..... he said that the one sore is infected (didn't say thats what the fever is from, he said UTI, or possible menigitis?? I dunno), and he said that she will need some bacterial cream, and that I really should stop CDing... Help please! I don't wanna stop! My other child who is in diapers, has the same thing happen even WORSE in sposies... is there anything to back up that CDing isn't causing this and that I don't have to stop??!!!

1st -
![]() 2nd - it is his OPINION that you should stop CDing. YOU are the parent and know what's best for your family. Don't let him bully you into stopping something that is GOOD for your baby. |

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....
MmmmHmmmm.....and he said specifically with proof that the rash was "obviously" caused by cloth? And that sposies would surely clear it up? And this is backed up by what.....his ignorant opinion?
Dumb doc. Keep doing what you're doing, mama. I hope the cream helps...and I'm really sorry your LO is sick! I hope they figure out what's wrong.

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....
I would point out that your older child had the same prob only worse in sposies and that you USE cloth because of the reaction that you children have to sposies - did you have this doc with your older child?

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....
when my DD had a bad rash, i asked my ped if i should use sposies until it cleared up, and he said absolutely not. he actually gave me props for using CDs, he said it would get 10x worse in sposies. hes an older doc that probably started practicing when CDs were the only choice. he said it saddened him that more parents didnt use CDs, and in fact i was the only momma in his practice that he could think of that used them.

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....
you should have just told him that the rash was worse in disposable diapers, and left it at that. do what you feel is best mama...

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....
I don't see how even stopping cloth and switching to sposies would help. The poop still touches the skin no matter what.
Sorry mama.

Though if they're sick, make sure you not only wash the diapers but disinfect them!

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....
I'm sorry mama. When my pedi saw my son's rash like that, he said YAY for cloth diapers and WOW... he must be lactose intolerant! So, I guess diaper rashes like that are a major sign of lactose intolerance (he had other symptoms as well, but in an infant it is the leading sign that there is a lactose sensativity)! Learn something new every day!
