I would definitely talk to you pedi about it! We switched to lactose free stuff and we're fine. Sometimes, its just a sensativity to plain milk and not things containing milk (like cheese, yogurt, etc)... so that can throw people!

My pedi recomended using cloth when my DS got the nastiest looking chemical burn on his butt from sposies. He wasn't pushing cloth on me but thought it would help for healing.

I still regret not sending in photos of his butt directly to Huggies cust. service.

I can't believe your doc told you to stop! I've had TWO pediatricians commend us for CDing! At DD's last appointment her doc told me she wished more parents cd-ed.

In what way would sposies help? Maybe the chemicals would leach the moisture from your LO's bottom even more? Hmmm--doesn't make much sense to me. I agree you should do what you feel is right--Mom almost always knows best. Is there a possiblity the detergent isn't getting all the way rinsed and maybe this is contributing?

I'd be finding another Dr myself. But yeah, like PP said that's his OPINION and it's obviously a stupid one so just ignore him, I ignore about 90% of what my kids Dr says. He at least respects the fact that they are our children and we have our reasos to not Vax and to CD enough to not fight me on it at least so I like that and stick with him because of that but a lot of what they say is nonsense.

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....

my little one is allergic to two things...

1. Milk- omg don't even think of giving her cheese it is like if she sees anything with cows milk in it starts a bum rash.

2. Disposables- she will bust a rash jsut having that around her. I have to hide the sposies we still have in the house because of it. she used to try to put them on her babies. now i have to put cd's on all the dolls lol. (her smaller dipes she can't wear and we are saving for baby #2)

so i don't know what to tell you for the doc. i would tell him to bite me and i woudl get a new doc. i have droped 2 ob's and 3 peds. due to unsupportive of my decisions.

hope you find a solution soon.

I wouldn't stop CD-ing. I agree that you'll see the problem get INSTANTLY worse in sposies. Maybe you can find some statistics? I know off hand that while 98% of children in sposies suffer frequent diaper rash, only 7% of those in cloth diapers do. If you could find it in print, that could go a long way. *HUGS!* I hope your little one feels better soon.

Re: Help me out... Doc said I should stop CDing....

My ds has very sensitive skin as well and his poop used to burn him so bad that he got 3 ulcers on his bum(2 in disposables and 1 in cloth)! My Dr said that he sees that ALL the time and it's usually WORSE with kids in disposables. He recommended I put an antibacterial cream, like Neosporin, on him until it cleared up. I noticed a few months later that we had no problems- I also switched from fleece/suedecloth lined diapers to mostly pf's and bamboo lined fitteds. Haven't had a problem with ulcers since! Good luck mama and to your LO!

Haha, I SWITCHED to CDing when my LO had rashes that wouldn't quit - and I can't say enough about how wonderful CDing has been for me and my babes since then! Do what you think is best, mama!
