Share your toddler nursing stories here! :D

DD is 18 months now, so it's definitely undeniable that she's a toddler. (Back when she was 15 months and under and not walking yet, I could still "pretend" that she was a baby, but now she walks everywhere so my denial is done, lol). We're still nursing 2-4 times/day.

When playing, she likes to come over to you and lean over, and will sit there and wait for you to give her a kiss before she goes back to playing. The other day, she did this while nursing. She popped off and leaned up to me, and I kissed her and she latched back on.

It's easier than ever to amuse her now, to the point where she giggles or she smiles so big that she comes unlatched and then has to put her "serious face" back on so she can finish nursing. But then she'll encourage me to make her laugh again.

And when you're nursing a toddler, of course there's all kinds of interesting positions that the two of you can come up with.

I love that pic! I was just thinking today that my dd who is 9mo has started pulling up on the furniture and loves when I lift my shirt for a "flyby". I can't wait till she's actually walking!

I thought of another one to add. This afternoon, I was changing her diaper. Usually right afterwards, she stands up on the changing table and then launches herself into my arms. This time, she stood up, and then bent over and reached waaaaaay down to the hem of my shirt, and tried to lift it up, and said "mah?" (her word for nursing). It was so cute, like she thought the only way she could gain access was to get all the way down to the hem.

LOL I love these stories! DD just turned 1 a couple days ago, but she has been walking for over a month. Now, she never crawls. We co-sleep, so at night I go topless, it's just eaiser So in the mornings when I change her diaper she will latch on to me while I am pinning! I have learned to put on a shirt before I do these changes

Re: Share your toddler nursing stories here! :D

Well, for us... Ansel has his moods. Sometimes he wants to nurse and be very affectionate and cuddly. Sometimes, if he's nursing and I look down at him, he will reach up and push my face away so I look somewhere else. If I try and look down again, he'll do the same.

Sometimes he pops off and looks at the nipple and tries to figure out how the milk comes out.

Sometimes he'll pop off and if there's a little milk there, he'll pat it with his hand, rub it in his hair, and then start the lathering action that he mimics when we're in the shower. It IS good for everything, right??

We definitely have the fly bys. He also tries to climb off my lap while still latched on. That doesn't work too well, but he tries nonetheless.
