Re: What does your toddler call nursing?

Before she could talk, Caitlyn signed for milk. After she could talk she would say "Urse", I thought she was always trying to say "other side" because I would ask if she wanted the other side; but then it dawned on me that she was saying nurse.

My 16 month old calls it nanas and signs milk then drink. My daughters called it nursies and for short sie sies. Both of them, now 4 & 6 nursed until they were well over 2.

When she wants to nurse, she says "Out!!" or, "I want out!" She's 28 months.

We call it nonnies, though.

Re: What does your toddler call nursing?

Well, my little Forrest is about 9 1/2 months (not quite a toddler but this thread is too cute)now so he doesn't really "call" it anything yet per say , but I call it "numnum" and I *think* he is starting to try and get that out. I usually wake up to mamama numnumnum It is so adorable...I give the signs for please and milk every time and I know he recognizes them, I just don't think he's coordinated enough to give it back yet...LOL I actually don't know any other mamas that have used baby sign so I don't know when to expect that first attempt at signing...can't wait though!!

Re: What does your toddler call nursing?

It used to be nah-nahs, then it was "My nurse, mama??"

We stopped around Christmas (2) and just the other day he was sooooo tired going to bed. He looked up and said "Mama, I needa be nursin'". I said there was nothing left and he howled for a good 5 minutes about it!

He STILL grabs my breasts and sticks his hand up my shirt whenever he's hurt, tired or cranky.
