did you see the wash capacity?? i can fit maybe 5 pairs of pants in one load. i WISH i had a basement and could just go and do the wash. that washer never leaves the kitchen. i have to move it one way to cook, another to get dishes out of the cabinet, a third way to eat, a fourth way to clean. yeah... i'll take a basement. lol i say paint your basement pretty colors. make it a lil more cheerful. who says basements have to be ugly. and maybe get a nice squishy throw rug for under your feet where you stand to fold etc.

i had some racks like that when I lived in SC! our washer/dryer is in our kitchen here..it blocks some much needed cabinet space not to mention it looks horrible when I'm behind on laundry someday I'll have a laundry room..or at least doors to hide them behind!

That's awesome mama, I love it. I do feel for you though. A washer in the kitchen would be a pain. We just moved from an apt. and our brand new washer and dryer are on thier way to us right now! The basement ideas are great btw. Our shower is down there too and a nice rug would do wonders! Thanks for sharing.

I use a rack too.
My dryer is broken right now, and lately our weather has been so bad that I have my rack in the kitchen! I have the opposite problem that you have though.. While my washer has a great capacity, I only have one rack.. so not only do I have to wash my diapers everyday, but I can only do small loads of laundry too! For the 7 of us!

Here's my old school dipes (almost all flats and pf's) on my old school rack. I'm totally loving my flats right now.. they dry so fast and aren't nearly as stiff/crunchy as my pf's and fitteds.
