What does your LO drink other than water?

Nikolas weaned ( ) a few weeks ago and I am still wondering what to give him to drink other than water.

I am not ready to give him milk (cow's milk that is) and he weaned because I dried up so there's nothing there. I am not crazy about soy milk or goat's milk but have not looked into almond or rice milk.

I don't want to give him juice because there is so much sugar in it.

I know someone who gives their LO gatorade but that seems like it's not a good option either.

Oh, I don't know. Someone lead me in the right direction.

Right now Nikolas drinks about 10 oz of water everyday.

Do try almond and rice milk - he might like it (though MY DS despises them all)

He's since weaned last week-ish (he just turned two) and we give him a water to juice ratio of about 20:1. other than that - nothing in the cup.. and thats about 6-7 a day. once I actaully measured it and he gets approx 8 oz of juice a day this way.

good luck

Re: What does your LO drink other than water?

Annalisse still BF at 16 months, but around 13 months we started giving her some yobaby drinkable yogurt thinned with a little regular milk. She will drink that but does not want regular milk yet. She was already used to the yobaby yogurt, so the taste is the same which is probably why it wasn't too great of a change for her.

And I do also give her diluted juice occasionally. She never really liked it but one day decided that she HAD to have her older sister's juice cup and since then she will drink it from one of the bigger sippy cups we use for our 4 yo when we are out (we don't use them in the house). We dilute her juice about 50/50 or 60/40 and use white grape peach. HTH!

Adrian won't touch milk at all, in any form, so he just drinks water. He has a 12oz klean kanteen and probably drinks 4-5 of those a day. He'll occasionally have juice, maybe twice a week and it's just a splash.

Ben drinks water mostly, and we still do teh enfagrow for 2-3 drinks a day as he gets bad tummy pains and gas from too much cow's milk. He does like drinkable yogurts. Maybe you could try making some smoothies with blended fruit and ice and water?

flavored water or water. She's really lactose intolerant so she doesn't get dairy, I won't do soy and haven't tried rice yet.

Diluted juice sometimes, whole milk sometimes. Water most of the time though. Both my kids and DH drink an insane amt of water!

Re: What does your LO drink other than water?

Thanks mamas. With everything some of you have said here I don't see a reason to give him anything else right now. I am just going to be sure that he keeps drinking atleast 10 oz. That is what he drinks on his own everyday.
