Shipping time

In your experience, about how long does it take to ship an item. I got a dipe from a mama (not here) and was told it would go out on the 15th of this month. I didnt think about it until now, but its been 10 days since it was scheduled to ship. I know USPS says 7-10 days at the most. Just wondering how long I should wait before getting too antsy.

Thanks-
Mel

Re: Shipping time

The po sends it whenever they darn well please.

The po guidelines are in business days, so if she shipped it on the 15th, the **soonest** it would be there is this Friday, but likely sometime next week. If you used pp, don't worry to much since you have 45 days to file.

Here is what our PO quotes... in a major metro area.

Priority mail *should* arrive in 3 days. It is not guaranteed and can take between 7-9 BUSINESS days. FC can take up to 12-15 business days. A FC package is not considered lost by the USPS until after 60 days. After 3 weeks, you can file a missing package notice on Priority.

It's more like 7-10 days at the LEAST and like Laura said it's BUSINESS days. Saturday/Sundays dont count. So, really it's only been 6 days since it's been mailed and depending on where it's coming from it could be until the end of the week before you get it.
So, I definitiley wouldnt be getting antsy unless it had been like 2 weeks.

Re: Shipping time

I agree with both the pp. IME I have had items take two weeks or longer which would be about 10-12 business days. I don't even start looking for an item until after a week to week and a half. I start checking in with people I have sold to if I haven't heard from them after 2 weeks.

Re: Shipping time

I ship sold items out the day they are paid for if the mailman hasn't come yet. If he has I ship the very next day.

When I buy stuff and the person ships w/in 2 days I get it approx 3-5 days later via fc mail.

Priority is about 2-4 days for me. I just seem to get all my purchases fast but that is not what the PO says. Just like the pp's have said, the PO has general guidelines for each delivery service. You have to go by that.

Re: Shipping time

Thanks gals! I only ship priority (on eBay) and usually know within 1-2 days when it was received so I was a bit worried. Then again, I totally forgot about the business day thing. Darn that po and its business days. I guess this is the reason Im looking for dipes 4+ months in advance!

My last few packages have taken from 2 -3 weeks. Then again I had something from CA come in 4 days. Who knows what is up with USPS these days.
