Re: Since when did GMs use Cotton Velour?

The majority is still bamboo. There's a full layer in the body and then 5 full layers in the soakers. The tops are just cotton/poly velour.

I know it has already been said, but it is a brand new thing with these new prints.

And regarding materials cost, I don't know, I know prints and the cotton/poly velour is MUCH cheaper than OBV and even Hemp fleece. Like at least 1/2 the cost. So maybe she is just trying to make up for the increase in cost to make the all BV's and rather than just raise those by a huge amount, she spread it out.

I agree. I don't use GM but I would never tell someone they shouldn't $$ for a product they want

Could have been that she made the switch when the OBV was taking forever to get. I think it was a smart move. . . diversify. MANY wahm's use both OBV and CV/OCV. I prefer OCV to OBV for the fact that it doesn't pill up after many washes.

Or maybe she's trying to make more profit. Why does it make people so upset? If you could, wouldn't you want to make a decent living selling what you like?

Re: Since when did GMs use Cotton Velour?

She probably used a cotton blend because you can buy it commercially in different colors. BV comes natural, so they would have to dye it on their own. It's much easier to buy it in a different color than dye it.

Also, the amount of fabric used for the inner layer isn't much. The fabric used for the soakers is what really eats up the fabric, and costs the most, so changing to a cheaper fabric for the inner wouldn't affect the cost much at all.
