It's a thread about the change of materials and its relation to the price. No one has commented about whether or not someone SHOULD buy them.

Just sayin'.
Yes, that's what the topic is but since when does everyone stay on the topic

which is I think what got people going . I know it threw me off, but then the mama that said that said she was misunderstood, so it's all good.
Yes, that's what I read.

I have an honest question- how much does it cost, in terms of material ONLY, to make an entirely OBV GM, versus the new ones?

I hope it's true that some new prints will be done in OBV still. I like that better and I think they are still soft after tons of washes - maybe not silky, but still soft on my lo's bum.

I dont know how much it costs for the overall diaper, but I can tell you that colored cotton velour is MUCH cheaper that OBV.

thats all I know. The bamboo fleece inner is probably about the same price as the core before.

ETA: how many layers are made with the colored cotton velour? just the inner layer and top soaker layers?

2 layers..the inner lining of the diaper and soaker

From her site:
Core is absorbent organic cotton/bamboo fleece, lining is another layer of soft blue 80/20 cotton/poly velour.

Snap-in soaker is topped in soft blue velour + 2 layers organic cotton/bamboo fleece sewn together to another soaker of 2 layers of bamboo fleece and another layer of blue velour for great absorbency. All together this soft and squishy diaper is nine layers thick, but constructed to wash clean and dry quickly. No doublers necessary!
