If you're really trying to raise a green baby I don't see how formula is even in the equation. The petroleum used to produce and transport, the packaging that is wasted, the grazing ground for cattle turned from beneficial topsoil to arid land, etc etc. How on earth is that possibly greener than locally sourced, no packaging whatsoever, totally organic breastmilk?! Aargh!

Caty pointed out organic formula to me in a grocery store a few weeks ago. Then without skipping a beat told me "If people want to be all organic they need to breastfeed! Can't get more organic than that!" Sad that my 13 year old knows more than her.

And how can she totally ignore the FACT that breastfeeding has been proven to improve children's health? She doesn't say not to breastfeed but she does pretty much say that formula is as good, if not better, than breastmilk. Needless to say I put the book down. What a bunch of crap. Rant over
