Re: Yarn for longies help
personally i don't care for Peace Fleece (and my dd won't wear her pair of PF shorts). i think the mohair just bothers me - lots of people love it though. and it wears like iron - great for overnights, doesn't pill, etc.
i've always heard briggs & young is kinda rough. personally i would choose any of the other 3. bfl is generally very nice (it does vary though, so while some people might say it's cloud-soft others might not - just based on the yarn they've used). i like targhee a lot. it's pretty soft and has a nice kind of texture to it (it's not a super-smooth feeling yarn). bbr is pretty nice in my experience - somewhere in between the targhee & bfl i've used in terms of surface texture. i'd probably say it's the least soft of those three, but i didn't think it was harsh or scratchy. |

Re: Yarn for longies help
BFL-Bluefaced Leicester wool is VERY soft. It is referred to as "Poor man's cashmere". This is a premium quality wool yarn. It is sturdy, yet flexible and wears very well. i have heard that this pills more.
Blackberry Ridge-This premium quality wool yarn is VERY soft and durable. Briggs and little-This wool yarn is not as soft as some of the other yarns. It does however soften up with washing. this sorta sounds like PF. Targhee-This yarn is very soft. Targhee is very similar to merino |
