Macaroni salad?

Does anyone have a good recipie for macaroni salad? You know the kind as a side dish for BBQ.

My fave is just elbows, mayo, celery seed, onion, and the baby shrimp in a can (rinsed well) I could live on the stuff!

This is one we love to make! I'll list the basics and then you can adjust the recipe to what you like. For example we like to add extra onion. Just add till it looks good! ;-) If you can let the sauce sit for a few hours in the fridge, or the whole salad, it gives the flavors a chance to blend, and it tastes much better!

Great salad for those hot days when you don't want to cook!

Macaroni Salad

1 cup uncooked salad macaroni
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/4 cup chopped sweet pickle or pickle relish
1/4 tsp salt
1 TBL chopped onion
3/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing.

Cook macaroni in boiling salted water as directed on package. Drain and place in ice water until cold; drain well. In large bowl, combine macaroni with remaining ingredients (we usually mix this in a smaller bowl first before adding it to the macaroni); toss lightly. Chill before serving.

We also like to add:
2-3 hard boiled eggs
1 cup peas (we use the frozen and just run under cold water to defrost before adding)
We have also added cubed cheese a few times

I make this the same w/canned tuna instead of shrimp and sprinkle a little cayenne or paprika on top for some color. You can also add some cherry tomatoes and cube some cheese
