Crib Questions--Nursery Smart? & Which Colors?
I want to order a crib & changing table. So far, I haven't found any locally that I like, though we've only looked at second-hand stores and BRU. I don't want to buy a crib at a second-hand store... and didn't fall in love with any of the ones at BRU.
So, I've looked online. I am drawn to the Nursery Smart Amelia convertible crib & changing table. I'm not sure which shade(s) we might like this crib in... so far, I've found it available in black. I think we would both like the black, but I've read that it's better to get a lighter-colored crib in that it's easier to keep it looking clean (and if--gross--baby decides to take off her / his dipe & play Picasso with the poop, it's easier to catch). Does anyone have a black crib? Do you like it? Does anyone know anything about Nursery Smart? We want a moderately priced crib that is very sturdy, won't easily dent & has the option of being convertible. Good customer service is a plus. And one that has matching teething rails or for which it isn't too difficult to find teething rails that fit well. Thanks!!! |

Re: Crib Questions--Nursery Smart? & Which Colors?
We have a nice crib w/beautiful bedding and I can count the # of times it's actually been used. It's set up in my room and it just sits there and looks pretty. We always co-sleep. Sorry I can't help.

I bought the cheapest crib on the market $100 jenny lind..I think? As far as changing table had local craftsman make me one. I knew I'd use that for a while but the crib was only used with baby #1 for maybe like 3 months.

Re: Crib Questions--Nursery Smart? & Which Colors?
i looked into consumer reports and they suggested buying an inexpensive crib that you can replace every 5 years so you can have one with the most updated safety features. We have the Jenny Lind crib...it was like $115 at Toys R Us, and has worked perfectly for our little one. It is SOOOO easy to put together too...I don't even think I needed a single tool....we have it in Cherry, but the other colors are nice too. GL!!

Re: Crib Questions--Nursery Smart? & Which Colors?
We had great luck getting a gently used crib on our local Craigslist. It can be hit or miss with Craigslist, but if you give yourself several months time to shop, you will probably find what you need.
Ours we got for $120 with mattress, bedding, & musical toys that attach. good luck
