Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

My daughter (16 mos) has never used a bottle. I just have the medela bottles from my Pump in Style, but just used those for pumping. (I used the pump to add milk to infant cereal). A few times we had to use something else when I couldn't be there and we used an Adiri Breastbottle nurser. So, we just have one fake boob type thing, and she didn't even really like that.

Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

You have all continued to reinforce my thoughts of no bottles. It really was more work so I'll just wait and see.

Thanks

Two kids here, ages 2 years nd 4 months. Neither has ever needed a bottle. My 2 yo dd does play feeding her dollies with a bottle though, not sure where she learned it.

I never used a bottle with DD, I am a SAHM who never gets sitters, I don't feel the need. Bottles are harder than giving it straight from the tap!

Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

We never used bottles here- she took one maybe twice. I bought the whole expensive pump -in-style thingy because I thought I was going to go back to work but that didn't happen... I did use it a little just to relieve engorgement, and to get some milk for when dd started cereal, etc, but then ended up getting a Avant hand pump thing for that because it was so much smaller and easier to deal with.
Since we've gotten by with no bottles, I'm skipping sippy cups too! Now at nine months Dd drinks either from me- or a little water straight from a small plastic cup (with my help). I just got so confused with where to even begin with the sippy cup when I saw SO many of them there at Target, so I figured just to stay away.
Now we can happily walk past the diaper aisle, the wipes aisle, the bottle/formula aisle and the sippy cup aisle when we go to the store!

I can count on one hand the times my 10-month old dd has had a bottle. We didn't need a sterilizer, warmer, or anything else we got at the shower. I ended up returning all that stuff to BRU and buying things we actually needed. As it is we only have the couple bottles that came with my pump and they get used less than once a month.

Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

My baby will be 1 on Monday and he's had a bottle once. I went to see the Nutcracker at Christmas and was gone for 4 hours. The only bottle we have in the house is an Avent that goes with my hand pump and it doesn't even have a nipple to go with it.
