Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

Me! lol, dd is only 5 mos, but she WON'T take a bottle either. There is no way around it. I guess it is her way of saying "hey mom, don't leave me, ok?"

My first was in the NICU for 4 days, and she took a bottle a few times while there and maybe twice when we got home... and then never again. With my second and third, we didn't even try, LOL.

We only used one with DS #3 when he was 10 weeks old. I had to have surgery and couldn't nurse for 24 hrs after. As soon as he was allowed to nurse he never had another bottle. And DS #4 never did have a bottle at all.

Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

I dont own not a single bottle.

DD1-never had a bottle, never had a pacifier
DD2-never had a bottle, never had a pacifier
DD3-Was in the nicu and had a bottle and pacifier some until she came home. After that she never had one.
DD4-has never had a bottle or pacifier

I don't buy nor keep bottles here. If there was a need I would just go buy one. I wouldn't buy it with no need for it.

Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

My oldest did get a bottle (but was mostly breastfed), but my 4 youngest never did. I tried to get my youngest to take one when when I needed surgery, but she refused & in the end it worked out alright without it.

Never took a bottle here either. I plan to pump to donate with this baby though, but other than that, no plans for needing bottles this time either.

Re: anyone never use a bottle for their baby?

We used bottles with #1 - formula fed and DS #2 BF - but very rarely. It was nice to have the option, but I also pumped on occasion, too.
If u are not going very far, then u can always wait a little til they can take a sippy cup or even just small sips from a very small cup (medicine cup?)
if they need milk. DSs could use a sippy assisted at 5-6mo. Sometimes they like that better - they might resist the bottle, thinking "this isn't Mommy" but realize that with a sippie or other cup that the person isn't trying to fool them and they will take it. HTH
