How far along should I be before I make an appt?
I am between 6 and 7 weeks preggo, I am not 100% sure and I was just wondering when I should go about making an appt to see the midwife? With my other 2, I used OB's and got in fairly early...with Riley my mom called and got me an appt right away because I was 19 and she was worried and with Kyla I was spotting early on, so the hospital made me an appt early on too...just wondering if it is too early or if I can call this week?? I am very anxious to get a good relationship with her, especially because DH will be gone overseas when I deliver!!

I went in the day after I missed my period because I just knew I was pregnant. Just make sure you are taking prenatals.

I would call & make the appt now just so you have it... but I know my office didn't see people until after 10 weeks.

they got me in at 9 weeks, but the nurse told me they usually don't see people until they are between 10-12 weeks. I think that is a little much.

Re: How far along should I be before I make an appt?
i had my first appt when i was 12 wks. that way there was a good chance we could start hearing the heartbeat. my midwife said as long as i was feeling good and comfortable that there was really no need for her to come sooner. but she would of course if i needed her

I don't normally go until 10-12 weeks. Unless I am bleeding I don't go since there isn't anything to check or do but that is me

Eating healthy and taking prenatals is what is most important for you now!

I suggest being seen as soon as possible. But I always went to obs, so I don't know about policies etc. I always liked getting the early ultrasound around 8-9 weeks so I could rest a little easier. Good luck and congrats!!!!!

Re: How far along should I be before I make an appt?
Call now for your appointment. My practice sees you between 8 and 10 weeks, but I called as soon as I got my BFP to make the appointment.
