That is way I was compelled to post the call right away.....guess in my hurry I forgot to mention I was also from Ontario. I'm not sure how fast they book up in Petawawa. She might be ok. In Guelph we have 2 midwive practices and 3 or 4 within about 40 minutes drive. Goodluck getting in any of them. With my first 6 years ago I had no problem, even signed up for a intro discussion and had time to decide after that. With my second I called at 5 weeks (I've only ever gotten a faint + test that early) My edd was Aug 10 and they said the month was almost full. This time I'm the last one for next May and I'm only mid May. I guess if someone tested pos at 4 weeks they could be after me. (but called before me) I know my friend who is in the Kitchener the next city over tried 3 different practices when she was 7 weeks and couldn't get in any of them.

A little OT - Are the midwives delivering your twins?

Who knows..

I am delivering my twins - the midwives are more than welcome to my home for the birth, but due to government restrictions who knows if they can/ will be present. I think it would be a great oppertunity for the students to learn about natural twin birth ect.

I don't want to thread hyjack so I will leave it at that!

Re: How far along should I be before I make an appt?

i usually start seeing my midwife between 14-16 weeks, but with my surro pregnancies i have a 6wk and 12 wk ultrasound each time, so my first one is next week on the 9th...just with the tech though to check for hb.

i think 12-14 weeks is the standard timeframe to start seeing the ob/midwife.

we should be due about the same time if you are 6 weeks now.

Re: How far along should I be before I make an appt?

I was like 9 wks before I even knew I was pg with dd, so I was seen right away b/c I have PCOS and was unsure of dates. Then with ds, I actually switched docs just to get seen sooner, lol. They saw me at 6wks to confirm, then again around 12wks. I agree though, I would definitely call and go ahead and get your appt set up. CONGRATS, btw!
