I have been using the BG OS for about 8 months now. My son now wears them all the way open (no snaps). I also use the hemp doublers. I try to change him every 2 1/2 - 3 hrs but he still seems to leak through the legs. I was thinking of swaping to a different kind but i am also pregnant and don't want to spend a ton of money on them. I don't mind keeping them if i can find a solution to the excessive leaking, and i would love to find a solution to night time. My son sleeps for about 12-13 hrs at night without waking so we have been using pampers at night. HELP? Thanks

Re: Bum Genious One Size
I think you just need to change him more often....2.5-3 hours is a long time to leave them in the same diaper, IMO, and that's probably why it's leaking. For night time, have you tried putting two inserts in?

Re: Bum Genious One Size
Thanks. He sometimes leaks when i have just barely put the diaper on 30 mins before hand. He's not the only one is he?

Re: Bum Genious One Size
I agree w/ the PP. I usually change DD every hour or so. Two hours is max. I don't know a solution to your night time dilemma as neither of my two babes sleep longer than 3-4 hours (lucky you!!!)

Re: Bum Genious One Size
Hmmm. Maybe the fit is wrong. If he's leaking so soon anyway. Have you tried any other dipes?

Re: Bum Genious One Size
Maybe go back to the smaller setting. It seems the leg opening is to big.

Re: Bum Genious One Size
I agree with going down to the previous setting. The leg holes may be too big. Also, have you stripped them to make sure it's no a wicking issue?

Re: Bum Genious One Size
I would agree you need to strip them it sounds like they are repelling. What kind of detergent are you using? How much?
There are several different ways of stripping. Wash without detergent (clean diapers, lol) and watch for bubbles, keep rinsing until no more bubbles. You can also use calgon in the wash cycle again no detergent, that will help break down any soap buildup. You may also want to try a different detergent, what works for one person may not work for the next. Lastly I also agree that maybe try a smaller setting, if there is room for the pee to run out it will! The insert should be fully soaked before it leaks, that will help you determine what is going on. Overnight, try a superdo, they are great for getting through long nights! Oh, one more thing, if the insert is fully wet, maybe you need a hemp doubler underneath it, hemp holds a ton and would help stop leaking with all the other things addressed! HTH

Re: Bum Genious One Size
I
my BG OS ...I would say strip them and make sure the leg casings are on tight when you put the dipe on. Also make sure the insert is laying flat inside the dipe. I have never had any issues with mine... even the 2.0 I purchased used FSOT are wonderful! Good luck mama!
