How hot should wash water be?

I've been researching but having trouble finding how hot my wash water should be for diapers. Did my doctor say 56 degrees Celcius? That would technically be a scalding risk if my hot water was turned that warm.... Would appreciate any info you have even in Farenheit!

Thanks!

Re: How hot should wash water be?

we just turned ours up to 130 F. It does get super hot, but we don't leave the babies in the tub alone anyway, and they don't have access to water to scald themselves.

I washed in cold water for the first year(we didn't have hot to the washer) and I had no problems at all.
