Interest in a WOHM Housework Support Thread

Ok. I am a Flylady flunky. I need to get my butt back in gear and start getting back on some sort of schedule for housework.

I am proposing a WOHM support thread for housework. Post your goals for the day that day or the night before. Anyone interested?

I have been struggling to balance my work and home responsibilities since my dh and I purchased our own podiatry practice last July. The transition from employee to business owner has brought on additional hours at work and added responsibilities. If I am working I feel like I am neglecting home and working at home I feel like I am behind at work.

We are also contemplating selling our house and moving in with my MIL. If we do that we need to get our home ready to sell.

Anyone else share my painful balancing act and want to join me?

Wow - I want to, but I'm actually a little intimadated at the thought of looking at EVERYTHING I have to do. But maybe it will help me out I'll give it a try.

My heart is there, but just concerned about how I would be able to keep it up. Definitely worth a try. Count me in. I have crazy schedule during month-end (like this week). I don't really plan on even sleeping - system down pulling 80-90 hrs this week at work (no OT pay since I'm salary).

Yes, my schedule is crazy too! I was thinking one or two goals for the day. Like today my goals are:

-To go through the papers on the dining room table.
-Get bills ready to pay
-Laundry

No crazy long list to make us feel bad. Realistic goals for the day. Maybe taking care one or two house keeping or decluttering projects per day. I figure if I don't set goals, it will not get done.

We are still recovering from a flood in our basement. So we have stuff everywhere. I need to get some organization back in our house and the basement items back to the basement. So that is my main goal the next week. Still in flood recover mode here.

not really...i don't get all my house work done as is, having everything memorized I need to do..a list isn't going to make me more motivated

i'd rather see a single parent's thread before I see something on housework....not that I think it's a bad idea, just saying I probably wouldn't benefit from it.

I don't do housework during the week except what I HAVE to. During the week chores are:

Morning:
Myself Up/Dressed
Switch Laundry
Pack gym/school bags
Feed Cats
DD Up/Dressed
Go to work

Evening:
Unpack gym/lunch bags
Switch Laundry
Cats - Litter/Food
Dinner/dishes
DD bath/bed
Fold/put away laundry

Everything else gets done on the weekend. If I'm not too busy having fun!

Maybe this link will give you some encouragement/tips.... I'm a PT WOHM & PT SAHM... but during the summer I'm home full time, so it's been pretty easy to get started with this this month..

Morning:
load dishwasher


Evening:
clean mirrors (and nothing else in the bathroom)
remove piles of mail from the dining room table
remove misc junk from breakfast room cradenza

And THAT's all! No since in setting unrealistic goals.
