Smile Lasagna recipies please

I always make my lasagna the same way. Well tomorrow I am having friends over for lunch after church (2 adults, a toddler and a newborn), plus the 6 of us.

Anyways, I am looking for something different that what I always do.

PLEASE share your favorite lasagna with me.

Thank you.

Re: Lasagna recipies please

I make it in a 13x9 dish.
I add beef and once it's browned add 3/4 can of sauce, i use traditional.
i will use a second sauce of prego brand and put a little on the bottom of the 13x9 so the pasta doesn't stick.
put down a few pasta, layer with the beef that has sauce in it, add cottage cheese, next layer of pasta, then meat sauce shredded colby cheese, last layer of pasta, then regular prego sauce and cheese. cover with foil and cook on 350* for 1 hour.
You can add whatever you want for filling if you all don't eat beef, you can also add some slices of green bell pepper to the second layer.

how do you make yours?

Re: Lasagna recipies please

I really like the deceptively delicous one, but my book is being borrowed. Basically she cooks her meat chicken turkey burger, whatever and adds 1/2 c pureed yams and a couple table spoons sour cream, The next layer was cottage cheese blended with egg and 1/2c purred caulifower. So using the no boil noodles it was tomato sauce, noodles all the meat, noodles cottage cheese/egg cauliflower mixture, noodles then I believe tomato sauce topped with cheese. I like that the yams tone down that acidity of the tomato in the dish.

Re: Lasagna recipies please

I make it several ways.
Most recent is one that uses ground turkey adn turkey sausage. My hubby doesn't like riccota cheese, i don't know why. but i make a replacer.
so here it is
1/2 lb ground turkey and 1/2 lb turkey sausage ( removed from the casings )brown meat together with sausage. set aside

2 zuchinni 1/2 lb mushrooms 1/2 onion, 1 cup frozen spinach, 1 tbs minced garlic. cut up veggies. I like all of them in medium dices, but if you like the mushrooms and zuchini can be sliced. saute' veggies with onions and garlic. Set aside

No boil noodles Possible the greatest invention.
1/2 tub of cottage cheese, 1/2 brick of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of parmasean. Combine in a blender or food processor til smooth.

1 bag of mozzarella. 1 jar of chunky pasta sauce.
layer according to directions on package. using the cottage cheese mixture instead of riccota and adding a layer of veggies over the meat. I also don't like as much sauce in my lasagna so instead of pouring 1 cup of sauce on each layer I just coat the noodles in sauce. then top with sauce and cheese. If this was too confusing email/pm me and i can try to explain better.
it makes a very yummy lasagna and you get all the flavors, instead of everything being smothered by the tomato sauce.

Mmmm...I haven't made lasagna in soooo long, and when I have, I've just used the recipe on the side of the box. I need a really yummy recipe. I'd love to try the Deceptively Delicious recipe- for PP, could you post when you find your book?

Thanks everyone, for sharing!

Re: Lasagna recipies please

OK, here is my reg lasagna (the one I always make)

I put a little spagetti sauce (prego chunky style)
noodles
mix of sausage and hamburger, a little sauce
noodles
mix of cottage cheese and an egg (sometimes parm. too)
noodles
meat again with sauce
noodles
sauce and motzarella cheese

Also I add itallian seasoning to the sauce.

Sometimes I have enough space in the pan for another layer (cheese layer), but most of the time the pan is full.
