Tasty low-fat/calorie snacks?
Ok - seems I'm always hungry and always looking for something to eat.... And I hate eating the same ol' boring thing, like a nappy granola bar or something, every day.... So, I'm looking for ideas on healthy snacks to help me stick to a healthy weight loss plan, but also that doesn't turn me towards the throne. lol.
I LOVE CELERY STICKS, any other idears? |

Re: Tasty low-fat/calorie snacks?
In summer, I LOOOOOVE frozen grapes! We wash them well, then dry them in our dish drainer before freezing them. We don't bother taking them off the stems until we actually eat them. They taste like little sherbet bites. Yummy!
I'm also into smoothies made of frozen fruit, nonfat yogurt, silken tofu, and cinnamon for sweetness. I try not to add extra sweetener. The combo of frozen peaches and strawberries works really well. And for extra fiber and omega-3s, I often add some ground flax seed. Sometimes I just need a cube of cheese or a small handful of cashews. I think the fat is just more satisfying. Oh, and I'm really into carrot sticks.

Do you need chocolate?
A whole chocolate angel food cake is only 800 calories! So, one slice is only about 50 calories! And it tastes really great, I'm not an angel food cake fan, but the chocolate ones are excellent! I make mine homemade and they are more moist.

Laughing Cow cheese, namely the light ones. It's soft cheese, goes great on whole grain crackers, or along side a bowl of fresh or frozen fruit. The combo of carb and protein is really good for keeping you full.
