Re: How soon after birth.........

i think breastfeeding takes "some" of the possibility away but definately not enough, a close friend of mine got pregnant again when her first born was only 3 weeks old, her sons are only 10 months apart, thats crazy but can also be a blessing in disguise

Re: How soon after birth.........

Well, my first two are 10.5 months apart (alex was 3 weeks early, so they should have been over 11 months apart..lol)...I was BF too...I concieved at 8 weeks pp, then I concieved MEgan when Alex was still Bf, however he was 18 months old, but he was still nursing about 8 times per day or so...
SO, that being said, my last period was in november of 2002! LOL! And it took 2 years to concieve my first (I have pcos)...so its possible, BE CAREFUL! LOL!

Re: How soon after birth.........

I think it depends on the person. I am not pg again, but AF didn't even return until almost a year after having DD. But she bfs a lot, and still wakes between 6-9 times a night to nurse, so that's probably why!

Re: How soon after birth.........

My girls are 12 1/2 months apart, to the day! I could tell I was ovulating as soon as 7 weeks pp w/ both of them, and I did EBF!!
After the 2nd one we used spermacide for a while (I didn't want to go on the mini pill 'cause my sis did that and we both have bicornuate uterus' and with her the m. pill caused 2 steady months of bleeding and hormones before she went off it and immediately got preg! 17 months apart :-) and my Dr. at the time said that was common for that kind of uterus!)
As soon as we quite using our BC of choice, we got preg again too! (18 months apart this time!)
It's really a blessing in a lot of ways, though - I love how close my girls are now that they are getting old enough to interact! Hopefully they will always be best friends!
