I saw that but I didn't think that those looked much like them. You can see one in her picture thats a bit more mature and they don't have the same coloring at all. I also looked at pics from the whole life cycle of the stinkhorn and none of them looked much like those....

Then again there are several different types of stinkhorn so maybe I missed one?

I don't know if that is the right mushroom or not, but he was FUNNY! LOL I do think it must be some kind of Stinkhorn, but mine didn't have the smell all the articles talk about. Either way, that's the closest I've come to id-ing it. Thanks!!!

Hajenkatt, I think you need to change your avatar/photo to one of the mushroomy dipes. That way, when you go on FSOT, all the mamas feel sorry for you and cut you good deals! Well, and the mushroom photos are pretty cool too.

And yeah, it crossed my mind when I saw the photos that they might be stinkhorns. They're, uh, BIG ones...

If DS had a "thread of the year" award, I'd vote for this one.

Holy freakin' bleep! That is by far the most disgusting thing I've ever seen! You should get an award for even being able to bag them up! I would have left the whole pail right in the middle of the driveway for DH to deal with when he got home. I think you just scared my DH into actually helping with the diaper laundry!

I'd totally throw them out and make DH buy new dipes. There's no way I could put something that was that nasty back on my little guy. I'd be way to scared he'd get a major rash, if not from the 'shrooms then from all the cleaners. Even if you could get them clean, you'd still know what they looked like before. Think about it this way...if it was your undergarments, would you try to salvage them or just toss them out?

I can't say I have ever been there. However what about vinegar and/or borax? Just a suggestion, like I said I haven't had anything grow yet. Give me some more CDing time though I am sure I can accomplish it. LOL.

OMG I didn't read all of the responses but I did see the pics..... . I think I would toss them, and the pail and the wetbag too, and disinfect the room where the pail was, and leave the house for two days....and of course make DH buy me all new diapers.....I would be so grossed out, but then again I have a bit of a mushroom phobia !
